Yes, the whirlwind has begun. I’d sort of hoped to breathe for a day on Monday after our all out sprint for the last week. Nope, today is my day to breathe. Nothing scheduled in which I need to leave home!!

So for those on the journey with us, here’s a little catch up from the last 2 days. Had a little hiccup which made me stop and need to regroup a bit – but then again, I was too tired to think straight and was in the middle of a few things already.  You will have this.

Danielle and I chatted about the upcoming yard sale and information regarding that and where we were going with it. I still needed to have a conversation with one of the pastors regarding ‘advertising’, per Pastor Adam. In this church, I’m still new to most of the inner workings, like how some things are handled, like announcements and advertising events etc. Partly because of this, and the fact that I was not focused on the conversation well, we tabled the conversation till we would meet the next day, when we would hammer out the details and get them ready for both the church and a local community paper, and work on a display area.  We’re learning to communicate! It is my heart that this group moves as one body, with one ‘voice’ – I guess it’s the unity thing… and a family thing.  🙂

Yesterday I gathered up most of my goodies from past Nicaragua trips, including a couple of colorful pieces, and small vase from there, and the display boards I’d created in the past. These boards we’re using just for reference points. You know, they say a picture speaks a thousand words! Armed with photos and these other finds, I headed into the church to meet Danielle. We got a bit of a slow start while figuring out what this area was to look like, but once the creative juices start flowing – watch out! With her help, I think we have an area set up that won’t be passed by easily!  I forgot to take a photo for you.

We also had a chance to chat with Pastor Brian about the ‘advertising’.  That part was short, but he hung around for a good while. We discussed a few ideas for fundraisers; hearing his ideas were quite amusing, and helpful. It is so nice and refreshing, and very encouraging when people are willing to hop into the middle of the boat and dream with you!

So that brings us to today. Danielle is going to be working on sign up sheets for the yard sale and bake sale coming up. She’s now handed me the advertising end of things. (She gets to be the money manager!!) At this point, I now have a little less than 3 hours to write up the ad for the paper’s deadline, and pop out the pertinent info to the church for Brian for the announcements etc.

Then I can get some things caught up around here. Bills got paid yesterday, and I managed to finished loading the dishwasher and wash a load of blankets before heading out the door for the day yesterday. This may be my biggest challenge this trip. BALANCE! With doing this trip with such a small prep window, balancing planning and executing what we need to do for the trip, with family stuff  – like OT and other appts. for my 17 yr old, and driving her to work (that took up most of July!) along with trying to catch up and keep caught up on house stuff, and somehow try to start fitting a regular exercise schedule in there, all without losing my mind or wearing my body out – this has suddenly become a challenge. But family is more important than ministry, and I don’t want to forget or neglect that. Nor relationship time – which brings me to my next step today… time for some one on one quiet time. Without this time with Him, I should very well hang it all up.

Till the next step…. Blessings!
